Kubernetes
Managed Kubernetes
Managed Kubernetes in your private network, with volumes and load balancers made from your manifests.
What a cluster is
A cluster is upstream Kubernetes on k0s. We run its control plane on a server of ours and look after it. Your nodes are servers in your private network, grouped in pools.
You deploy as you would anywhere: kubectl, Helm, your manifests. Storage and load balancers come from the same manifests and land on the storage and network your servers use.
What you get
Volumes that move with the pod
A PersistentVolumeClaim becomes one of our replicated NVMe volumes. It grows while the pod runs and follows the pod to another node.
Load balancers from YAML
A Service of type LoadBalancer gets a network load balancer. Ingresses of class scamp share one application load balancer with HTTPS and a WAF you switch on in the panel.
No control plane to run
The API server and etcd run on a server of ours, apart from your nodes, and cost nothing.
Billed like the panel
Nodes cost what servers of the same size cost. Volumes and load balancers of the cluster are billed like the ones you make by hand.
Built in
Nodes
Standard CPUs, or High Frequency up to 5.7 GHz. Burst for the lowest price, sustained for full speed at all times.
Volumes
Replicated NVMe for your PersistentVolumeClaims that grows while the pod runs.
Load balancer
A public address for a Service of type LoadBalancer, spread over your nodes with health checks.
Application load balancer
One balancer for all Ingresses of class scamp, with HTTPS from Let's Encrypt and a WAF you turn on in the panel.
Questions
Which Kubernetes is it?
Upstream Kubernetes on k0s, the newest release when you create the cluster.
How long does a cluster take?
About four minutes from create to a running cluster.
Where do the nodes run?
On servers in your private network, next to your other servers. Pools can have nodes of different sizes, Standard or High Frequency.
Which storage can pods use?
Every storage class of the panel. The W classes have power loss protection for databases. A folder of a Storage Box can be shared by pods on every node at once.
How is it billed?
The control plane is free. Nodes, volumes and load balancers are billed by the hour like the same resources made in the panel.
