Card payments are live, and the welcome credit moves to the card
Early Access is over. As of today ServersCamp runs as a production service with card payments switched on. This post covers how the money side works now: prepaid credits, top-ups by card, the invoice you get for each payment, and a change to how the welcome credit is issued.
Prepaid, billed by the hour
Your account holds a credit balance. Resources are billed hourly against it, and the first hour of anything you create is charged at creation. You top up the balance by card, from EUR 10 upwards, in any whole amount up to EUR 10,000; the panel offers 10, 25, 50 and 100 as shortcuts.
When the balance runs out, the account follows the same ladder as before: warnings by email ahead of time, machines paused at zero, powered off a day later, and deleted only after a further grace period. The suspension page has the exact timings, and the billing documentation covers what each resource state costs.
Cards
Payments run on Stripe. Card details are entered into a form served by Stripe and go to Stripe directly; they never reach our servers. What we keep is the brand, the last four digits, the expiry date and a fingerprint Stripe derives from the card number. Saving a card triggers a 3D Secure confirmation with your bank on a zero amount, so the card is verified without anything being charged. You can remove a saved card at any time.
Invoices
Every payment produces a fiscal invoice from ServersCamp SRL, Romania. The PDF is emailed to your billing address as soon as the payment clears and stays available under Billing, Invoices in the Cloud Panel. The invoice is made out to the legal details on your account at the time of payment, so fill in your billing profile before the first top-up if you need a company on the document.

Prices in the panel and on the pricing pages are net; the VAT line is added on the invoice according to this table.
Welcome credit now comes with the card
New accounts still receive EUR 25 of welcome credit, valid for 30 days. What changed is the moment it is issued: the credit lands when you save a card, not when you confirm an email address. The card is verified with your bank and nothing is charged; the credit is yours to spend on any resource in the trial catalog.
Over the summer we had days with several hundred registrations from people who wanted the credit and had no use for the servers. Each of those needed an email address and nothing else. A card that clears a bank check is harder to come by, and it unlocks the welcome credit once: the same card on a second account opens an ordinary account without credit. For someone evaluating the platform this adds one step at signup and changes nothing else.
If you signed up before today and never received welcome credit because the automatic issue was paused, saving a card now issues it.
What did not change
Prices and hourly billing stay as they were. The trial catalog while on welcome credit also stays: VM plans up to 4 GB of RAM and disks up to 100 GB, with the full catalog available once the balance is your own money. Promo codes still work under Billing, Credits.
If anything in your account looks wrong after today's switch, write to support from the panel and include the invoice number if there is one.
